  Ethembeni was established 26 years ago by Mama Emma in response to the vast number of destitute children who were homeless, unwanted and abandoned. To date, Ethembeni continues to provide shelter, education and social development opportunities to these young people. Mama Emma provides love and care for the children in a safe, family environment. Were it not for this approach, these young people would regress and inevitably land up with even greater emotional and physical scars.
